Only Four Areas Have Moderate Air Quality, Other Areas Good
KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 6 (Bernama) -- The air quality in most areas in the country is good as at 11am Firday, except for four areas which recorded moderate readings on the Air Pollutant Index (API), according to the Department of Environment.
The four areas are Pasir Gudang (Johor), Bukit Rambai (Melaka) and Balok Baru (Pahang), which recorded API readings of 51, and Sibu (Sarawak) which registered 52.
Meanwhile, the API reading was good for 46 other areas, including Alor Setar (16), Tanah Merah (23), Jerantut (16), Melaka Historical City (16), Limbang (16) and Kuala Terengganu (19).
Kuala Selangor, Port Klang and Petaling Jaya also recorded good API readings at 38, 40 and 27 respectively.
The API readings are classified as: 0-50 (good), 51-100 (moderate), 101-200 (unhealthy), 201-300 (very unhealthy) and above 300 (hazardous).
