RHB Islamic Bank Opens First Branch In Sabah
KOTA KINABALU, Nov 6 (Bernama) -- RHB Islamic Bank has opened its first branch in Sabah here, while showing off a new image.
"RHB Islamic Bank is stepping up with a new, outstanding image, in line with our aspirations to give all our customers the best.
"RHB Islamic Bank which all the while used the blue colour, synonymous with the RHB Banking Group, has now migrated to light green in the hope of making it more easily recognised by the public," said its chairman, Datuk Faisal Siraj at a ceremony to launch the corporate identity as well as opening of the new Kota Kinabalu branch.
The Chief Minister, Datuk Seri Musa Aman, officiated the event.
According to Faisal, although the Islamic finance-based bank was just opened today, products and services founded on Syariah had already been on offer at the nine RHB Bank branches in the state.
"The encouraging response from customers in East Malaysia is what moved us to open a branch with full services," he added.
He also disclosed that public interest in Islamic banking was increasing.
Faisal said that RHB Islamic Bank which has been in operation over the past four years, had attracted non-Muslim customers.
According to him, 40 per cent of its retail and 60 per cent of commercial and corporate customers, were non-Muslims.
