A&W Plans 100 Outlets By 2015

SUNGAI PETANI, Nov 4 (Bernama) -- KUB Malaysia Bhd, which operates the A&W chain restaurants, plans to capture four per cent of the fast-food market by opening 100 outlets by 2015.

Group Managing Director Datuk Mohd Nazar Samad said 36 A&W restaurants were now in operation and 12 more outlets would be opened nationwide next year.

However, A&W is yet to have a presence in Sabah, Sarawak, Perak and Perlis.

"The company would invest RM24 million to open the new outlets in strategic locations in Peninsular Malaysia, Sabah and Sarawak," he told reporters after the opening of the first A&W outlet in Sungai Petani, Kedah.

Besides the Sungei Petani restaurant, A&W will also also open a restaurant, costing RM1 million each, in Bukit Bintang, Petaling Jaya, Wangsa Maju and Seberang Jaya, Penang by year-end.
