RHB Islamic Bank CEO is new AIBIM President

KUALA LUMPUR, May 21 (Bernama) -- The new-named Association of Islamic Banking and Financial Institutions Malaysia (AIBIM) has appointed Datuk Adissadikin Ali as its president for the 2018-2020 term, replacing Datuk Mohd Redza Shah Abdul Wahid.

AIBIM in a statement said Adissadikin, managing director and chief executive officer of RHB Islamic Bank Berhad, was named during the 23rd AIBIM Annual General Meeting on May 16.

He leads the new Supreme Council of AIBIM comprising Affin Islamic Bank, AmBank Islamic, Bank Islam, Bank Muamalat, Bank Rakyat, CIMB Islamic Bank, HSBC Amanah, Maybank Islamic, MBSB Bank and RHB Islamic Bank.

AIBIMís new logo was also unveiled at the AGM and its designer, Raja Zilatun Nazwa Raja Azie, awarded for winning an interbank logo design contest held last year.

In his speech, Adissadikin expressed his desire to take AIBIM further in Islamic finance by working closely with AIBIM members.

"AIBIM, with its 26 member banks, will host the Global Islamic Finance Forum 2018 (GIFF2018) from Oct 3 to 4. It will strive to ensure that the aims for GIFF2018 can be implemented and that even more participation will be achieved this time," he said.

He added that GIFF2018 is an important platform to promote Islamic banking and finance in Malaysia, especially to foreign delegates.
