KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 3 (Bernama) -- Kawasaki Motors (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd aims to sell up to 6,000 units of its premium motorcycles next year, said its general manager, Jeffrey Lim.

"So far we have sold 3,000 units. So, next it is going to be 5,000-6,000 units," he said after the launch of its KLX150S model here Tuesday.

The premium motorcycle which carries a price tag of RM8,589 was launched by Minister of International Trade and Industry, Datuk Mustapa Mohamed.

Kawasaki Motors had successfully launched its Ninja 250R and the ER-6n last year and the VNII in June this year.

"The Malaysian market is very important to us and if we were to compare to other countries in the region, Malaysia's premium big bike market is much more developed," said Sosuke Kinouchi who is Kawasaki Heavy Industries Ltd Japan's general manager of quality assurance division.

Kawasaki Motors' executive chairman Raja Datuk Hanippudin Raja Datuk Nong Chik said the company will focus on setting up more exclusive services centres to support after sales requirement.
